Download the complete 'Unpaid Work Service Specification Draft' (PDF document - opens in a new window) This draft specification has been produced by the East Midlands Regional Unpaid Work Pathfinder Project. The document is an outcome based specification that draws on the Manual for Delivery of Unpaid Work and on learning from the Pathfinder Project, particularly the Best Value Review. It is a template that can be adapted for use with or by any of the Probation Areas in the region. The specification is modular and consists of generic requirements and modules covering supervision of offenders, placement finding and management and transport and logistics. The purpose of the specification is to inform the commissioning process for lead providers. It is also for use where Areas are planning to market test or sub contract the delivery of Unpaid Work either in part or as a whole. To give context to the specification further documents are available on this website in the Reports on File directory. A consultation event took place on 11th March 2008 at the University of Leicester to consult and obtain different viewpoints from the widest possible range of stakeholders and interested parties. The event was primarily intended for community and partner organisations within the East Midlands Region as well as Regional Criminal Justice agencies and potential bidders. If you have any queries about the draft specification or regional issues please contact Rose Scott by email.
